Hello I have been running into a few people trying to scam me. I am losing connects and money(from buying connects) at the same time. I haven't been on Upwork long and I have already run into this issue 2 times.

Maybe you DON'T need to lose connects!

If you encounter a scammer, then you can use the "Flag as inappropriate" link button in the top right hand corner of the job posting.

When Upwork reads your report and removes a job posting because it violated Upwork ToS, then you AUTOMATICALLY receive your connects back.

That does not prevent me from wasting my time and you usually don't know until later

Always go through the client's credentials and how old his/her account is. Try submitting proposals to those who have at least hired 5 people with min 50% hiring rate and also see how much they have spent.
