Scheduling Zoom Call via Calendly Before getting hired

Hi Everyone!

Most of the clients on Upwork like to schedule a Zoom call before hiring, Is this thing OK? or it's against Upwork's Terms of Service?

One more thing, there are lots of clients whose payment method is NOT verified and they tell freelancers to fill out Google forms and give their contact details. 

it's against Upwork's Terms of Service?

Hi Rahul,

             It's against Upwork's ToS to talk to anyone outside of Upwork until a contract is in place. Most non verified payment method jobs I have come across are SCAM jobs, Never fill  out personal information if asked.

Both of those things mean they are probably scammers.

So, I can't have a Zoom call before getting hired? Most of the clients like to discuss via Zoom before hiring.

If it's a Zoom call using the Upwork version of Zoom, it is allowed. If they want you to communicate off of the Upwork app, it is not allowed.

is it possible to schedule a zoom call in advance using the upwork zoom tool? I could only get it to START NOW>

In your discussion page the second icon at the top is to schedule a meeting.
