Hi ,
I dont see anything about this.
Can I sell products on upwork, like lets say I designed a business card for my client and I want to offer my client the service of printing the business cards and selling it to them ata retail price. I would go through upwork so there wouldn't be any violation or anything.
But is there something against that? what would be the pitfalls of doing that?

I don't think there's a violation in that. Anyway, the client has a choice of whether to accept your offer or not.

Hi Sara,
Given the nature of the product you mentioned looking to offer on Upwork, it can potentially be in violation of Upwork ToS. In order to confirm, please do submit a support request with specific details so we can advise. Thank you.

Goran, aside from OP's direct discussion with CS, it would be great if you or someone from Upwork could provide a general answer here. It's hard to see what aspect of TOS could be violated by the type of contract OP described--she clearly said all payment would go through Upwork.

I also have a similar question, but mine is for a client who is asking me to create his artist profile on Upwork. He would like to offer commissioned work for his art, and shipping it overseas is also an option he is looking at. Please help me enlighten him, especially in terms of how he will be paid.
Thank you.

No.
It is not Upwork's intention that YOU create a profile on behalf of SOMEBODY ELSE on Upwork.
So either you are talking about something which is a violation of Upwork ToS, or I did not correctly understsand what you meant.
If an artist wants to create a profile for himself, he may indeed do so.
Once an artist has a profile on Upwork, he can get paid to create art. That is what we call "commissioned work."
How would an artist get paid?
He would get paid using hourly or fixed-price contracts.
We do not refer to this as "selling goods."
Artists who are hired through Upwork are selling their services.
Yes, it is true that an artist can get hired using a fixed-price contract for which he gets paid to prodice a specific deliverable. But that isn't what we typically think of when one uses the phrase "selling goods."
