Send my own invoice to clients

Hello,

Is there any problem if I send my own invoices to my clients?

The reason for doing so is just to make sure I comply with the regulations of the jurisdiction I am currently living in.

I understand upwork will continue sending its automatic generated invoices, I am ok with that. I am just going to tell my clients 'don't use the one upwork send you, use this one instead'.

Is it ok if I do this? Or is this somehow against upwork terms and conditions?

Hi Felipe,

All payments have official invoices that are ready to be downloaded or printed for record-keeping purposes for the clients. You might want to discuss this with your client to check if they would be okay with you sending them manually.

Can you please clarify how do I make Upwork not issue any invoices for me, and let me do it myself? Thanks.

Hi Slava,

The invoice is automatically sent when you submit work for payment on Fixed Price contracts and log your time on Hourly Contracts. If you wish to send a manual invoice to your client, you may do so, and then ask them to issue a bonus payment instead.
