Sharing cell no and email for courier purpose

Hi

A client need to send some samples (for material analysis) to my home address via courier service. He needs my cell number and email address for this purpose.

Can i share it before the contract started?. Beacuse, courier may not reach to me or may stuck in excise/cutoms. Is it possible if i share above said information, once the samples reached to me.. then i may start the contract and adjust the pricing.

looking forward to your response.

Thank you

That is totally fine.

After a client has officially hired a freelancer, they are welcome to communicate in any way they want to. They are welcome to share contact information.

The client should hire you officially first.

Why is the client sending you things before you have been officially hired?

Have the client hire you using an hourly contract. THEN provide the client with your email address, home address, etc.

After you receive the materials, if you want to set up a separate fixed-price contract, you may do that. Or you may continue to use the hourly contract.

You are not required to log time using the hourly contract. But if you have an official Upwork contract in place, it means you have permission to exchange contact information and communicate outside of the Upwork platform.
