Hi Everyone.

I have a confusion. Can we ask the client Skype ID or drop our skype or other contact detail and ask client to contact us over there? Is this according to upwork TOS?

There are no Upwork rules prohibiting this.

Yes, you are allowed to ask a client for her Skype ID.

As a client, I consider this annoying. I will not provide my Skype ID to the freelancers I hire. But that is only my personal preference. I can't speak for other clients. I'm certain that many don't mind this.

Yes.

You should understand that what many Upwork freelancers do is let the client take take the lead on this.

If a client asks me for my email address, then I provide it and I am happy to communicate with the client via email.

If a client asks me for my Skype handle, then I provide it and I am happy to communicate with the client via Skype.

If a client provides a Slack link, then I am happy to communicate with the client via Slack.

Etc.
