Solo Freelancers Starting Agencies

Hi!

I'm curious to know why individual freelancers start their own agencies and work solo on Upwork? Does this offer them more benefits than getting a "Freelancer Plus Membership"? What are these benefits?

As far as I know, a "Freelancer Plus" membership costs $14.95 and provides 70 connects.

An "Agency Plus" membership costs $20, plus the agency has to pay $0.15 for each connect.

So, why do solo freelancers take "Agency Plus" membership? Are there any other benefits?

It might me that they have people working at the back-end or maybe they outsource the work.

They do that because they are confused. It is not allowed to have an agency that has only one freelancer.
