Solved: Some client needs my id

I have an interview with one client right now.

At first, I had one guy but after a few days, another guy takes place now.

They made a complex 10 conditions.

I can agree with all conditions except for one condition.

They need my id. I asked they have a privacy policy in using employee's personal information using.

They answered "No"

Omg.

They requested my id to verify me. I asked them I already passed id verification here why they need it again.

They are saying Upwork verification is not enough.

I really can't understand such business company exists or not.

without any rule, how can they need other's sensitive info randomly?

I guess it is strange and support has to check this.

I would strongly recommend not to provide any sensitive information. If the client needs any information, they can reach out to our Customer Support.
Could you also share the client's name with me via PM (click on my name) so that our team can investigate it further? Thank you.

I already said to them on chat. They can request this to the Upwork support.

Upwork support will not give them your ID document.

It is always safe to refer clients to Upwork Customer Support if a client asks for identity conformation, identity documents, etc.

Upwork Customer Support will not provide anybody with private information, but CAN explaint to clients that your identity has been confirmed, and can also explain that they (the prospective client) does not necessarily need certain things they may have thought they needed.

Well, at least they are honest. Ask them if they have a non-scamming policy.

I've already got advice from Upwork employee, he said that please don't share sensitive information with them.

Anyway thanks for your help.
