State Tax Question

On my tax form, do I need to claim that I made money in other states than my own (Florida)? If so, is it the state of my client or of Upwork?

Renée:

In all honesty, I really doubt anybody from Upwork will provide an answer to this. Upwork refers users to their local tax experts and authorities.

It would be fine if an Upwork user tried to answer your question here. An Upwork user's answer to your question may be correct for your specific situation. But it may also be incorrect. Nobody here knows all the details of your freelancing work. An answer appropriate for your next door neighbor may not be appropriate for you. We don't know your incorporation status, S-corps, LLC, type of work that you do, etc.

My opinion:

As a general concept, taxes are based on money YOU earned, regardless of where your client is located.
