Alright, got my first gig. Yay!
The money isn't as good as I would want, but I can climb my way to the top. I don't mind that.
Anyway, start doing the work, and the client even says they like my proposed edits. I asked them two questions about the story, and they said, "I need to let the story breath'.
They want to cancel. Very nice about it, and I was being professional, etc.
Anyway, I am just pissed because I think I could have stuck the landing if given the opportunity. I didn't say anything because I think arguing with the client isn't professional. But now I have this story in my head and I can't work on it.
Just need to vent.

Ha! Been there. You're probably lucky they cancelled when they did before they told you the story "didn't feel organic."

Hi Ben,
Did they send an offer or did they cancel before sending an offer? (You should not begin working before having received and accepted an offer)

They sent an offer, it appears that I am getting paid. So I don't think I got scammed. Still very annoying.
I will note it would be my first time getting paid, so I don't know how it actually works.

Thanks, that made me laugh. It helps to know others have had a similar experience.
I feel like 80% of the posts are fraudulant. 10% are people who don't understand what formating is, and 9% are people who actually mean 'ghost write'...
