Talent Specialist - How to reply?

Hello All 🙂

I really like the Talent Specialists and appreciate their efforts; More than anything they are motivational / inspirational as I get invites from / about jobs that I've already looked over and said “meh...”, but then receive an invitation from a Talent Specialist and I take a second / third look at the post and decide I might want to do it.

On to the questions...

When you receive an invite from a Talent Specialist and you click accept, who is actually getting the message / proposal? Please explain or point to a link with more information about the mechanics of how this works.

This is an example of what you might receive: "The client will ultimately decide who to hire, so please direct any messages about this project to the client through Upwork Messages. Best of luck to you!"

How do you direct message to the client, or is this just another way of saying, word your message / proposal as something that will be forward to the client?

Please help me understand how this works so I can make use of this wonderful feature/service.

Thanks,

jw

The client.

You want to react as if the so-called talent specialist wasn't involved at all.

"so-called"?  My experience has been very positive with the Talent Specialists,  Their recommendations / project selections have been spot on.  I truly appreciate what they are doing.

That's great to hear.

Rare, but great.

Hi Jerry,

The Talent Specialists may highlight jobs for you based on your listed skillset and availability and send you invitations to submit proposals on behalf of the client. When responding to these invites, you should still direct your proposal and all questions to the client as the client still makes the final decision on who to contract for the job. You can read more about this program here

Can you say that "I was invited by the upwork talent specialist to apply for this job" in your proposal to the client ?

Hi Afeefa,

When responding to invites from Talent Specialists, you should still direct your proposal and all questions to the client. They are still going to make the final decision on whom to contract for the job. You can read more about this program here
