Please help me with something, every client asks me to connect with them on wattsapp, personal email or telegram. Is this right or a scam?

It might be a scam because some clients do fraud. They work with you and after delivery, they will not do the payment.

Yes, It's a scam! And you are not allowed to contact clients outside Upwork before you have a contract in place.
