Hi Sophie‚
Communication outside Upwork after being hired on Upwork is a violation of Terms of Service?
Thanks

No, it isn't. But a client saying "you are hired" does not mean you are officially hired on upwork. Only an official contract counts.

Hi Sarah,
I want to reiterate Sophie's response that sharing contact information before a contract has started is against Upwork's Terms of Service and that all communications prior to the contract starting must take place on Upwork.
I have escalated your report to the appropriate team. They will surely review this job along with the client's account and take action accordingly if necessary. We also encourage you to let us know if a TOS violation has happened by using the Flag as Inappropriate option throughout the platform. You can learn more about user reporting here.
You may want to check this help article and this thread for more information on how to stay safe on Upwork.

Your profile is almost blank, except for a small job, a portfolio example, and a photography specialised profile.
You have a "conversational" level of English, yet you don't just limit yourself to offering translation services into Spanish, but also from Spanish to English. This makes me think you have no translation experience at all.
That said, a client wants to "hire" you for a translation job? Please be realistic. Even without Telegram, that could be only a scammer.

Keep on thinking without even knowing the skills and ability someone could have, because you don't know them, lol. I bet that way of thinking has taken you to unimaginable places. Best of lucks.

You could be the best translator in the world, but nobody would ever know because you don't offer it as a skill and you don't have a portfolio showing your skills.
If somebody hires you "off-profile" - huge red flag.
There are thousands of freelancers who demonstrate their translation skills. Why should a serious client hire somebody who doesn't? In short, that does not exist.
Be careful with any unsolicited invitations.

No, I don't know you, I just read what you wrote on your profile. And clients read it too. The competition here is so high that you likely will not be invited to translation jobs. That's why a direct invitation should be seen with suspicion. Don't kill the messenger

Its against the terms and conditions of working on Upwork to communicate outside the platform.
