Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying a good health!
I recently worked with a client on an hourly contract, I worked for him for 30 hours, now he says that the work is not correct and he asked for a refund. As I do not want to give him a refund, I want to cancel his request (which will create a dispute between us), I do not see the option to cancel the refund request or create a dispute.
Please help,
Thanks in advance.

Nida:
A freelancer can not dispute an hourly contract.
A client can dispute hours you logged last week.
If your hours qualify for Upwork Payment Protection, you still get paid.
If a client disputes hours and those hours didn't follow the Upwork Payment Protection rules, then you don't get paid for those hours.
If the client is trying to dispute hours that you worked last week, there is nothing that you can do about it, so don't worry about it.
If the client is not actually disputing your hours, but simply clicked a button that generated a refund request sent to you... that is nothing more than a message. There is no power behind it. There is no button to click to reject the request. Nothing will happen automatically.
Remember thst the more time that passes, the more difficult it will be for the client to get any money back, no matter what he does.
No matter what, you must always communicate in a polite, professional manner. But that does not mean that you need to say yes when a client asks for a refund. It was inappropriate for this client to ask.
