Hey Guys, I was invited to this job post and when I checked the responses I found these many invites/interviews. Is that normal?

Hi Youssef,
Could you please send me a PM with the job post link so I can check with the team? Thank you!

It's a scam for people to get free connects for being interviewed. The "client" must be pitching for a world record - 276 interviews in 19 minutes.

It may be a scam, but it's not to get free connects—those are likely interviews completed by people accepting the invite spam, which wouldn't award the free connects. This kind of invite spam happens fairly regularly.

Maybe, but there are still over 50 proposals, which suggests a selection of freelancers are in on the racket.

Or a big client who really does hire hundreds of freelancers from the same job post.
The 19 minutes is the the time elapsed since the client last looked at the job post, not how long it has been open or anything to do with the interviews.
From what can be seen on the screenshot there is literally no sign that there is anything amiss.

I can't tell what niche this is in, but in the editing and proofreading area, seeing 50+ proposals is common. To me, that doesn't mean anything by itself. I'd skip past that job just based on those numbers, but they don't necessarily mean it's a scam.

Just a side note: if a client invites more than a couple of freelancers (including myself), I decline the invite or don't bother applying. Maybe it's my ego, but my best clients and best relationships are the ones who know the moment they read my profile that I'm the one. So I've stopped bothering if anything else is the case.

@Wes & Robert,
I get UW Talent Specialists that will send me invites with the same results as Youssef mentions. Sometimes those job postings are not in my skillsets. The back of the house really needs to monitor their employees better.
