Top-Rated Eligible weeks not increasing

Hello, there.

Yes, I'd like to know why my weeks for qualification for top-rated status haven't been increasing, despite meeting the qualifications

Yes, I was on my 15th week of the 16 weeks to qualify for the top-rated badge :japanese_symbol_for_beginner: on Upwork before I miss out on the qualification. The qualification weeks have been dropping back for the weeks I wasn't qualified till it got to the 6th week of the qualification weeks.

After working on some jobs and getting nice ratings, I got back to 93% JSS and since then I've been maintaining the 93%.

It's now over 7 weeks having over 90% JSS and meeting all of the criteria but the weeks seem not to be increasing.🤔

Please, I'd like to know why this is happening.

Thanks in anticipation for your kind response.

Regards,

Joy

Hi Joy,

To earn Top Rated status, you need to maintain Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score (JSS) of at least 90% for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks. The Top Rated Eligible Weeks metric keeps track of that progress looking at the last 16 weeks as a rolling window.

This means that, if you've accumulated a block of non-eligible weeks in the past, you'll need to wait for those weeks to fall out of the calculation. When your count doesn't change, it is generally because an eligible week is falling out of the calculation while another is being included. Once non-eligible weeks start falling out of the calculation you'll see an increase in the count. Check out this help article to find a helpful chart explaining this process.

so is it mean, it will keep the eligible weeks at 6 out of 6 until I meet the 90% criteria again?

Hi Abubakar,

Thank you for your message. Your eligible weeks will start decreasing as soon as your eligible weeks starts falling out of the 16 weeks window. Refer to the Eligible week chart on this page for more information.

Thank you,

Pradeep

Hello experts,

I have been at 100% JSS for more than 3 weeks now since I first received the JSS (on UW for ~3 months). Attached is a snap of mystats page.
My Top rated eligible weeks is not increasing from 0 (ideally should be 3 atleast). I want to know if this is an issue or it will update directly to a higher number in future?

Regards,
Akshay

Hi Akshay,

The Top Rated Eligible Weeks metric keeps track of that progress by looking at the last 16 weeks as a rolling window.

It looks like my top rated eligible weeks ar enot increasing even though I a have fulfilled the requiremtns (what i believe is) for more than 6 weeks.

Could somebody help please ?

Hi Shahid,

The Top Rated Eligible Weeks is the number of weeks in the past 16 weeks when you had either Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score above or equal to 90%. To earn Top-Rated status, you need to maintain Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score (JSS) of at least 90% for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks. The Top-Rated Eligible Weeks metric keeps track of that progress, looking at the last 16 weeks as a rolling window. You might want to read this help article for more information about how your Top Rated Eligible Weeks is calculated.

It has been more than 6 weeks, that I have satisfied the conditions for top rated badge. But my top rated eligible weeks are stuck. I have no idea what do i need to do. I am pretty sure it is Upwork bug or something.

Hi Upwork,

Why my top-rated eligible weeks are not updating? my Job Success score is 95%

Hi Rehab,

Out of the past 16 weeks, you still have the same total number of eligible weeks as last time we checked. Eligible weeks must include Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score above or equal to 90%. Each Saturday we remove the week 17 weeks ago from the calculation and add the most recent week. For the count to increase, you must be eligible this week, but not have been eligible 17 weeks ago. You can refer to the chart here for more information.

Thank you,

Pradeep

I had a rising talent badge till last week (11th week of 16). This Monday I got a Job Success Score which is 76% and

Top Rated eligible weeks 12 of 16

From Monday, will the system halt my Top Rated eligible weeks?

Hi Khozem,

In general, note that in order for the eligible weeks to increase, you would have to meet the eligibility requirements each new week while non-eligible weeks fall off the calculation. This means that if there's any non-eligible week on the calculation, you won't see the number increasing until that week is "pushed off" the time window. Please check the 'Calculating Top Rated Eligible Weeks' section of this help article for more information.

Hi Luiggi,
Thank you for the clarification but this is a not a satisfactory answer. I already reviewed the articles but still confused.
My question was very simple:

"I was having a rising talent badge till last week which was 11th of 16 week. This monday, the eligible week has increased and it shows 12 of 16 but the JSS is 76% (I completely understand my JSS went down because of a bad review i.e. private feedback from one of my clients)
Will this coming week stop my profile to be eligible for the further weeks?"

2nd question is:
On my profile, I could see 197 hours a few hours ago and now it shows 182 hours, horrible. Any explanation on this?

Hi Khozem,

Arjay here stepping in for Luiggi. Top Rated highlights professionals who have built a strong reputation on Upwork by getting positive feedback from their clients, time after time. One of the criteria for you to become a Top Rated is maintaining a Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score of at least 90% for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks.

Please note that your JSS reflects your overall contract history with your clients and is based on your relationships and feedback so negative private feedback will affect your JSS. With that said, this will also affect your eligibility weeks. As Luiggi mentioned, for the eligible weeks to increase, you would have to meet the eligibility requirements each new week while non-eligible weeks fall off the calculation. This means that if there's any non-eligible week on the calculation, you won't see the number increasing until that week is "pushed off" the time window.

Regarding the total hours on your profile, I can't seem to replicate the issue. Can you please try clearing your cache and cookies or use a different browser? Let us know if there are still discrepancies with the hours and If you can provide screenshots, that would be extremely helpful.

Hi, I tried to signup for Upwork with my main email, but found out that I had already made an account back in 2014 (when it was called odesk I believe). Now I can't login or signup or recover password or anything related to my main email. No matter what I try I get an error. When logging in: "Oops! Username is incorrect.", when signing up with my email: "This email is already in use". Can't reset password either since it also says: "Invalid username or email".

Didn't know what to do other than post here and hope that someone has a solution. Couldn't find a way to contact Upwork either.

Hope someone can help me.

Hi Markus,

Hello Upwork support team.

I need to know why is my Top Rated eligible weeks did not increase this weekend? Thank you.

Hi Imtiaz,

When your count doesn't change, it is generally because an eligible week is falling out of the calculation while another is being included. Once non-eligible weeks start falling out of the calculation you'll see an increase in the count. Check out this help article to find a helpful chart explaining this process.

Hello everyone, last week I had 8/16 elegible weeks and it should be 9/16 but still says 8, my JSS is 100% and I have good feedback since I started on Upwork. Is this some issue with Upwork servers or something? Because Lately I've been seeing a lot of error messages everytime I open the app, so I guess this is some issues going on with Upwork rather than my JSS

Mine isn't updating today either as it should. Probably a website error.

Can you please reply to my post? I'm trying to get help since yesterday and for some reason you're replying to everyone but me  😐

Hi Javier,

I'm really sorry for not being able to get back to you sooner. I would like to confirm that we currently don't have an existing issue with the user's stats calculations. As Annie Jane mentioned, in order for the eligible weeks to increase, you would have to meet the eligibility requirements each new week while non-eligible weeks fall off the calculation. This means that if there's any non-eligible week on the calculation, you won't see the number increasing until that week is "pushed off" the time window. Hey Arjay, I've read the article a few times now, but my concern is that since I got the requirements, weeks started increasing and I've been maintaing my 100% JSS so far. So is there a way to know what week I failed to meet the requirements? I need dates, proof. Reading the article doesn't give me the answer I'm looking for.

Thank you for your response Javier,

I certainly understand your main concern. However, your JSS reflects your overall contract history with your clients and is based on your relationships and feedback. We don't reveal the exact calculation for your score because doing so would make it easier for some users to artificially boost their scores. To ensure fairness and accuracy in the marketplace, we need to maintain some privacy with this metric.

In general, the Upwork system takes snapshots of your 3-, 6-, 12- and 24-month history in the marketplace and calculates a score for each. The best score out of these moving time windows is your JSS and we profile.

Four different Job Success Scores are calculated every two weeks:

  • Your average JSS during the past 24 months
  • Your average JSS during the past 12 months
  • Your average JSS during the past 6 months
  • And your “Trending JSS,” which we calculate by adding your average JSS for the past 6 months with your average JSS for the past 3 months, then divide in half.

Note that any movement in this score (either up or down) reflects both recent activity and activity over a longer period of time (up to 24 months). I hope this clarifies.

Hey Upwork, my Top Rated Eligible Weeks increase every Monday. But this Monday (5 September, 2022) it was supposed to increase to 9 of 16, but it didn't. I meet all the requirements, Earning over 1000$ & 100% JSS.

Please take a look & update any errors.

Hello Annie, is it possible for them to check mine as well? Mine did not update at the normal time and the only difference between weeks is a new positive feedback.

Thank you!

Hi Nicholas,

Thank you for reaching out to us. In order for the number of eligible weeks to increase, your non-eligible weeks will need to be "pushed out" of the past 16-weeks. Once this happens, the number of eligible weeks will start increasing, provided you meet the requirements. If an eligible week falls off of the calculation each week, the total number of eligible weeks won't increase. You can find more information here.

Thank you!

all my current weeks are eligible. It started at 0 and every week has gone up 1. There must be another reason that this week is delayed.
