Top rated badge - bad thing

Hi everyone...

Look, having strange feelings and concerns about this TopRated badge.

All the time from the very beginning being here - I was trying to get this TR badge.

Well, 8 month of hard work, feedbacks, JSS on top... and all this time I had everything: at least 10 invitations a week, lots of orders, talks to the clients, etc... Like, dude - keep on working! All fine!

I've got a badge. Right before it, some one from the upwork, so called "specialists", tried to help me gain MORE from my account... It was my fault also to listen to her for a little update of my profile...

After all of this... I have - nothing. No invitations, no orders, no clients... The only idea is to drop this **bleep** badge to get back to "usual" and get my clients flow back...

Am I the only one who stuck at this situation?

Any ideas HOW to get back?

it looks like i am also stuck with this issue...since last 2 weeks i am also facing same issue mine is top rated plus and strangely rising talent red mark in most of the projects is also looking like an issue

Rotation - is ok and understood.

I rolled back my profile before it was "helped" by UPwork so called specialists (i think, better to fire them at all for they poor work). But, it needs some time...

But could you tell me one more thing, I have a magazine project at my dashboard.

Hi Vadim,

Please keep in mind that clients and freelancers have different search filters and results. I searched for your project via a client account and was able to locate it. Thank you.

There are supposed to be two projects at "magazine" search query.

There is only one.

What do you mean by 'Upwork specialists'? What was their role?

She mailed me to help me to pump up my profile.

After her tips - I've found that, she was looking to the wrong profile, gaving me wrong tips (like, I'm an editorial deigner - tip from her was for Video editing, which I dont have at all)

+ 2-3 more mistakes.

Yeah, I'd keep clear of those guys personally.

I've had no experience with 'success partners', but going by my experiences with so-called 'talent specialists', they're specialists in name only and are far from qualified. Some of them have no knowledge and/or experience in the field they're supposedly specialists in.

I'd put this one down to experience if I were you and if I may offer one of my favourite pieces of advice: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" 😉

Absolutely agree.

It was the 1st time - here at UPwork so I thought it might be helpful.

I had top positions at russian freelance, i knew the processes mostly...

But, is there any possibility to kick the upwork team to stop guiding freelancers at wrong direction?

Same with "rising talent processes" - girl called me, made an interview for TOP UpWork clients. Asked some, quite stupid questions, like "do you have printing experience"- LOL. I have 20+ yrs at printing. And you must have been seen this at my profile before interview.

And week later, UPwork said - you are not good enough for our TOP clients.

Ridiculous.

Usually, there's dip in work for July-August. It gets better in September when everyone returns from their vacantions.

Yeah, I knew that... But I thought its not working for this year, cuz not everyone has "permition" to travel this year :)))

You would be surprised how many people are allowed to travel.

But even when not travelling, the people are on vacation since schools are closed and someone has to entertain the kids.

Have you tried to reset your profile (description, etc) to previous status? It could be these changes that caused the issue. Have you kept any copy of the previous description of your profile?
It may be the "summer slowdown" effect.

Also, it can be the rotation of profile appearance in search. Maybe your profile changed to a more "hidden status" for the moment.

I don't think that TR badget causes such a harm (if it causes any at all).

Reset - no, just by memory rolled back all changes that been made by "helper".

No any hidden status... All open and available.
