Hi to get the top rated plus badge I need to have earned over 10k with a large project. when they refer to earning 10k in the last 12 month do they mean from Jan to Jan? The large contract I have started in May.

No, "last 12 months" literally means "the last 12 months". "January to January" would be "this calendar year".

Last 12 months (today) means 20. December 2019 to 20. December 2020.
