Trouble with offers with no communication and unresponsive clients

Hi Upwork Community! I realize this may be a redundant topic, but I'm having an issue of jobs I applied for and getting offers with no other communication. I've completed one, exactly as the job description requested, attempted for two days to talk to the client and got no response, I ended up having to download my google docs into word to submit to Upwork in order to submit for payment. 

This has now happened a second time where I was dropped an offer with no communication. Is this common? What should I do? I know for a fact I can do the work and will do so with this second one as well, but that's twice in three days and they are for jobs that were out a while ago. The clients seem to be actual active members. Also the first job had a dead line of 1/24/21 and I submitted ahead of time and even now that the deadline has passed no communication..
