Trying to find a simple wordpress theme! Gaaahhh!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I don't know where else to ask. I've been in the works of creating my own website for my freelancing and I just can. not. find the kind of wordpress theme that I want. I just want something simple, like this site: http://www.daniellemjason.com and/or this site: http://emilystraubel.com/about/

Does anyone know a wordpress theme that looks like this? I'm pulling my hair out over here! Either free or paid, but don't want to pay more than $70 for a theme. For how simple I want it I'm guessing there should be a free one out there, right?

I'm almost thinking of just using Wix, as they seem to have themes that look closer to what I want. But not using wordpress feels wrong...

Again, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. If so, I'd be greatful for a pointer in the right direction. Thanks guys!

Try X Theme

https://theme.co/x/demos/

It comes with its own pagebuilder and you can choose from all of these preset demos.  There are a few that look like your sample sites.

It costs $64.  Don't use Wix.

Thank you for the suggestion! But dang, I wish they showed thumbnail previews so I didn't have to click on every single preview link to see what it looks like -_- Call me lazy, I prefer 'time-valuing' haha.

Check out Generate Press. There's also a 24/7 support forum.

I'm a WordPress developer and I've worked with X by theme.co and from a developer perspective, it's as complex as a theme can get. It has 4 'stacks' for instance, which is almost like getting 4 themes instead of 1. If you go with X, you probably want to use either the Icon or Renew stack, because Integrity is rather corporate, and Ethos is a magazine layout.

The 2 sites you like were built in Wix & Squarespace, alas. If they'd been WordPress sites, then you could simply get the same template. Whatever you do, a paid theme is not necessarily better than a free one. With either free themes or paid themes, make sure it's been updated recently, like sometime this year, and that in the case of a paid theme, it's been purchased by several hundred people who gave it good reviews.

Thank you for the input! I've been looking at either Intergrity 7 with X Theme, or the Generate Press theme that was also mentioned. But I don't feel particularily thrilled with either haha. I'm not sure if I can get what's in my head to work with the customization abilities for either...

It's frustrating that it's been this difficult finding such a (seemingly) simple theme. But then I guess I'm also being picky.
