USD to PayPal outside of USA, will paypal send USD to my local bank?

Can paypal send me money as USD to my USD denominated Australian bank account?

Hi Adam,

I would suggest reaching out to PayPal customer support to clarify further if they`re able to assist you with these type of withdrawals. 
Regarding the exchange rate, difference in exchange rates is not something Upwork can control. When a bank converts a transaction, they will mark up the interbank rate to buy or sell a currency. Online calculators will not take into consideration the mark up that is applied. Since rates constantly change throughout any given day, the rate you received is the rate offered by our bank at the time your specific transaction was processed.

why not allow us to recieve in USD to our local banks then?

Hi Adam, 

If you have a US-Dollar account, you should be able to receive your withdrawal in USD. If I'm not mistaken, the remittance to your local bank will first be converted to your local currency (USD to AUD) then will be converted back to USD once it hits your bank account (AUD to USD). It would be best to confirm this information with your local bank.
