I am unable to open my messages on Upwork despite not having any problems for months. I checked out that software that Upwork uses and my laptop does support it. I tried my phone app, my desktop app and none of them worked for my Freelancer account. I even have a client page on Upwork and I was able to check my messages on that so I am at a loss at what to do! Any help would be appreciated.

I've checked and see you posted a couple of messages about 20 minutes ago. It looks like you are able to access your Messages, but please do let me know if you need any assistance.
