UpWork!!!! WHYY?>@?>!

Hey UpWork.

You investigated a perfectly fine work.

I got a job. The Guy wanted me to do it in 3 days. I sent him the work already. I wanted milstones. He wanted to do hourly. I said my computer crashes when I run the UpWork timelog app. So he said it's okay to do manual hour.

I didn't sleep at all on Saturday and Sunday, until I finally had finished my work. But you decided to suspend my the transaction.

THis client had a verified method of payment before I started work. Now he doesn't.

WHy are you doing this? This is the second client that I couldn't get paid because of your weird system. I do the work. Client receives it. They didn't pay.

what the hell is going on?

Even if I don't get to work on UpWork any more I'm going to get to the bottom of this situation.

Hi Seok,

I`m sorry about the inconvenience this had caused you, just to confirm that your contract was suspended due to a problem on your client end.

Please keep in mind that manual time is not protected under our Upwork Hourly Protection
Could you please download the app and if it's still crushing on your end send me the version your using along with your specification for your system so that our team can assist you further. Thank you.

If you want to avoid this situation, you need to make sure you track your hours strictly according to the rules of the payment protection, then Upwork pays you out of their own pocket in case your client defaults on payment.

That means:

  • You use the tracker (NO manual time)
  • You have meaningful work memos which describe the work done
  • You have adequate activity levels
  • Your screenshots show only activity related to the work done.

If the client's payment system failed, that is a problem with the client, not Upwork. Your client must either enter a valid payment method or--because you didn't use the time tracker--you will not be paid.

I think you may be agreeing to work for some untrustworthy clients. Consider the possibility that these 'clients' are rushing you to complete work and send it back to them because they know that they will not pay and want to get the work from you before Upwork discovers their fraud.

Hi Seok,

By agreeing to insert manual hours, you risked a lot.
I have done this, but only with long-term clients.

I had the same problem with the payment verified with a client, upon accepting the contract, it was verified, after delivering the work, it wasn't.
I got in touch with CS and they could verify that it was like that.

And having tracked the hours, having had a good record of activity and written memorandum of work, Upwork paid me from his side. No more problems.

I know that there are people who have problems with the Time Tracker because it blocks their computer (it has been a while since I have used it and I do not know what will happen when I have to do it). Perhaps, the best thing is that you get in touch with CS and explain what happens when you use it.

And do not give up. Only use the platform well.
