I know for a fact that many Elance clients have been moving their freelancers offline or to other platforms.
Most who have been hiring for sometime already have a list of freelaners that they use.
This might account for the lack of clients making the transfer to Upwork.
That is what I suspect. Elance clients get rid of the 24 months non-circumvention-period this way.
I strongly agree with you, all the major changes that bad happened here. I am not a newbie, I've worked with many clients here (Odesk), and I was also one of the top rate in Odesk, when the program just starting.
I has decreased drastically when this plattform change.
Somehow, I feel bad changes. Unlike before, when Upwork was named Odesk. so many good clients here.
Now I just get a bad client, and the poor rates. Such as disappearing when the contract begins, disappears when it has reached an agreement on the project, and other issues that make a graph of my work is very significant decreased.
I do not know, if I was still able to get a new project here. but, I've been pessimistic, because I feel this change.
I hope, Upwork can solve this problem
