I sincerely hope that something is done ith the new upwork site. Besides hating the green color, the site is not very intuitive. I connected with the Elance interface very quickly. I understood most of the functionlity in about a half an hour. Upwork on the other hand is the opposite. It is prettier, but not as practical. Without wishing to offend anyone, being a cross platform user, it reminds me of the difference between using a Mac and a Windows machine. You can do the same work, it just takes longer on PC.
I often wonder if websites are tested with regular users before launch. I know in my field of graphics and photoshop/photography it's easy to go down the wrong path thinking everything looks great, only to hear your customer say "what the hell is this" when they see your final result.
And no one is more shocked than you.
So far I would like to be able to:
Hide my prices.
Have the ability to order my portfolio pieces according to my wishes.
Have the portfolio at the top of the page instead of under reviews.
Have the portfolio display pdf's in a less awkward manner.
Read the site without straining my old eyes (no green please).
I understand there is a learning curve involved here. And I've only been on the site for 1/2 an hour. Maybe it will get better?
Opinions?
Thanks...John

Hi John,
Welcome on board. You will find some useful Video Tutorials on YouTube on how to use the platform. Search for channel name "Upwork" and check their videos.
Here's a direct link: Upwork channel on YouTube
Best regards,
Wassim

Please take a look at this thread. There is 35 pages of some of the same comments you made. Welcome to Upwork.

Ain't gonna happen.
Have the ability to order my portfolio pieces according to my wishes.
You can, actually more easily than you can on Elance (although there are no categories). It's drag-and-drop right on the display/edit screen. There has been a recent problem with Upwork reversing the order of the list unpredictably; I don't know if they've reached stability yet.
Have the portfolio at the top of the page instead of under reviews.
Don't hold your breath.

Not sure what you mean. Elance used a generic icon for PDFs, while Upwork gives a preview. If you're referring to a faulty preview, this may be a known Safari-specific bug.
Read the site without straining my old eyes (no green please).
Upwork has dug in its heels on this one. Again, don't hold your breath.
Welcome and all the best!
Michael

Regarding site color, Cristian F suggested a workaround (FIrefox 'Color That Site' extension) in this thread:
