Upwork app does not notify messages when data saver is on

I have data saver turned on on my phone so that means background usage of internet by any app on my phone is prohibited. But some apps still send notifications from the background. Yesterday I got a message from a client and Upwork app never notified me instantly, is there a way to make it still post notifications when background data is restricted?

Thank you for your message. Your Upwork mobile App will not work as expected unless you enable the background data on your phone or list the App as an exception for background usage.

Hello Timothy , Thanks for reaching us. If you turn off your data saver I think all is fine. Let try by turn off your data saver, then you get instant notofication from Upwork
