Upwork blocks proposal views

Hello community,

I would like to share my plight about working on Upwork, understand how common the occurance is and gain solutions if any.

I am a Product Design Professional offering Industrial Design, CAD & Engineering Design services on online marketplaces including Upwork. With more than 20 years of experience, a decent profile and an awesome command on my skills and communication, I could have a fantastic run at Upwork but clients would get impressed only when they see my proposal. All upwork is interested in getting money out of connects. None of my proposals even reach the clients.

I would like to know how is the plight of other freelancers and gain a review of my profile and cover letter by Upwork moderators. A skilled person with my level of skill and experience has been paying upwork in buying connects, which never culminate into being seen let alone an interview, for years together is too much. In addition Upwork wants to take money out of freelancer for every single activity including keeping your availability on.

Pathetic

Can an Upwork Moderator look into my profile and tell me what lacks in it that makes me have a dry run on projects since a considerable time?

Thanks in advance

Change your profile description! The first two sentences are the most important so don't waste them by saying "Hi".

It you don't grab someone's attention in the first two sentences, you will have lost them. Same goes for your proposals!

The biggest issue that you face is that you are a newcomer on the platform - a platform which is also flooded (although our industry/category is one of the less competitive ones, thankfully). Until you are established with at least a couple completed jobs, acquiring new jobs will be difficult. Your level of experience has no influence on that, because as far as Clients are concerned, you are an unknown and could even be fake.

I predict that you will have a significantly more success in acquiring new work after you complete your current $2k contract.
