Upwork ended contract on it's own?

I have an old contract with my client. It's in progress, because there was a lot of communication and details to be verified. We arre still in a slow work with it.

But several days ago I suddenly got contract ended and refund request for 2-nd milestone. I pinged my client and he said, that he haven't initiated this. I see a comment near milestone 'Upwork cancelled milestone'.

What should we do and how to get back our contract to a normal flow?

Thanks,

Anton

Hi Anton,

If there is no activity at the 90 day mark, Upwork will close the contract to comply with Escrow regulations. Fixed-price contracts with money in Escrow will be closed and both client and freelancer notified prior to that
Your client or you can set up more than one milestone so that funds are exchanged on 30-60 days or whatever works best for both sides, in this case the contract will not be closed and the 90 day period will be reset.
