Upwork fee

Hello Upwork!

So I'm a little confused and need some help. It says on Upwork Fee page that after $500+ earnings, the Upwork fee is reduced from 20% to 10%. But I've made $500+ and Upwork is still charging 20% fee for the next contracts. is there further info on this that I'm unaware of?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mawra,

Upwork's pricing structure is a sliding scale, based on your lifetime billings with each client (across all hourly and fixed-price contracts you've ever had with them on Upwork), not all clients combined. The more business you do with a client, the lower the fee you will pay.

  • $0-$500: 20%
  • $500.01-$10,000: 10%
  • $10,000.01 or more: 5%

For more information, you can check this help article.

Thank you.
