Upwork feedback removal feature

Hello. Recently I had bad experince with one client and while I am waiting for feedback from him, I want to assume my knowledge regadring feedback removal feature in upwork (sorry if I named it incorrectly).

So, one time per 10 contracts and not often than 3 months a freelancer is able to request feedback removal from his profile. So:

1. One time per 10 jobs doesn't mean that I need to have 10 jobs after this 'bad' one. Overall number considered.

2. A 'Bad' job is considered as well.

3. If I request it:

    a. My JSS will not change in ANY reason, related to the bad contract. But it doesn't mean that it will not be changed due to other contract's reasons.

    b. Users will not see a 'bad' client's feedback

    c. Users will not see a 'bad' client stars count

    d. Users WILL see record 'This item has been deleted'

    e. Users WILL see client's contract name, as usual.

    f. Users will not see client's feedback and related records to a freelancer from 'bad' client's profile

    g. Users WILL see a freelancer's feedback to client both in freelancers and client's profile.

So, in ideal conditions, if I have only 5-star contracts and no other jobs, requesting this feature will cause total compensation of any negative impact to my JSS including: private feedback, public feedback, refunds, and anything else. The only thing which will indicate that there was a contract will be a record 'this item has been deleted'

In ideal conditions, if I have 20 jobs, I can request this feature 2 times each 3 months.

Also, there's an option in feedback removal feature. I can select what to hide. Feedback or JSS only. And it's not clear to me what the difference there. Please explain it. Please review and say if I wrote it correctly or there's any issues. Thanks

Hello Aleh,

I have also got same problems in odesk, i had successfuly done many projects and got 5 star ratings, but i worked with few bad clients later, i had a bad working experience with them, they gave me low rating and negative comments, after that chance of getting project went down, still i am trying project here.

So as a freelancer i request feedback removal feature

              Thanks

Are you top rated? If so you can remove one feedback per three months or every 10 jobs.

Per 3 months OR 10 contracts? So can I request this feature every 3 months?

As long as you're top rated yes.  You can read about it here.  https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/219801228-Top-Rated-Perk-Feedback-Removal

"Fairness is giving all people the treatment they earn and deserve. It doesn't mean treating everyone alike-Coach John Wooden"

Thanks, but what the logic?

1. I get Top Rated

2. I find client, work for him 3 months

3. I blame client, take money, request feedback removal

4. Go to 2.

Profit?

As long as my JSS will never change due to FR, I can be top rated forever? No?

At least three months must pass and at least 10 new jobs on Upwork must be completed before you can submit another request.

This line clashes with your response and also responses of several people from upwork support that I contacted before.

You said I can request this feature every 3 months OR 10 jobs completed.

Support guys told that not new jobs, but overall number

And what is correct answer? Why I need keep trying to find the truth there? As written there, I have right to request FR, then complete 10 NEW jobs, and if 3 months has passed, I am eligible for a new request. But it's a slavery. What if I encounter a bad client on 5th job after FR? So my career is over? It's not fair.

Not fair?  How? I think it's a great perk. They started it because everyone knows you can't please everyone.  What is not fair about it.  At least it's there and you can use it.  Chances are if you're top rated then you are satisfying 99% of clients.  If you are getting a bad client every five contracts, then you need to look at your practices.

I think you are overthinking this.  Just email CS, ask for feedback removal on the job title and question and move on.

"Fairness is giving all people the treatment they earn and deserve. It doesn't mean treating everyone alike-Coach John Wooden"

Thank you, but my opinion is people who designed it didn't take into account that number of bad clients in proportion not less than number of bad freelancers. Many clients wants earn more and pay less. But is there any program for clients sounds like 'you can submit new job after 10 5-star feedbacks from your freelancers'. So a freelancer is always in a less protected state than a client. I asked CS again a minute ago and they confirmed that 10 new jobs should be completed after FR request. So I need to prove that I am eligible to get a chance to stay onboard again even if it will not be my fault. Well, this is more than nothing, really.  But I wish sth like 'super top rated' program when a freelancer may be protected as well as a client and then it will be fail risks from both sides. Thanks
