Hello Upwork community, 

I have a friend who is working on a contract since a client invited him using the bring your own freelancer (BYOF) system but her account is not active yet. Could anyone please explain what should be done and if she will get paid anyways? Thanks!

Hi Khelifi,

We won't be able to comment specifically on your friend's situation. However, in general the freelancer can work exclusively with and get paid by the client who invited them to join Upwork through BYOF program but in order to be able to bid on other jobs, be shown in search and accept contracts with other clients, their profile will need to be accepted. They can always update and resubmit their profile for a review.
