Using Portfilio Link in Job Proposals

I am an image editor.  What could be any better than providing a portfolio link to the exact kind of editing that the prospective client is looking for?  I just tried this only to find out that the links do not show up in the proposal as working, CLICKABLE links.  Why not?  Most people either wouldn't know how or wouldn't bother to copy the link and put it in their browser.  What good are the links if they are not clickable?

I think you should go for [before and after image] editing examples, which will be great rather than adding a link to move from your profile

I always use links in my proposal [google drive links] and it works

Yes, I use links all of the time also.  It's just the portfolio links that don't show up as clickable for some reason.
