Hello,
I'm new to Upwork and I have 2 questions:
1. I'm trying to insert my VAT number but it is declined by Upwork. This should be my tax payer number with PT before, like, PT123456789, right?
2. I have done a translation for a client, but did not set my working hours at the desktop app as I didn't know it should be done. I informed the client how many hours I have spent. Is there any risk here?

Hi Vania,
Sorry to hear you are running into issues with using your VAT number on Upwork. Could you please check if the VIES website is able to validate your VAT number? If so, please add your VAT number in the same exact format that VIES is able to validate it.
Your client can issue a bonus payment or you can add your time as manual hours if the client has allowed this on your contract. Please make sure to discuss this with your client. Keep in mind that both cases are not protected under our Hourly Protection for Freelancers.
