Helloooo! I added my Vat but it says it needed to be VIES registered. Is this some special registration?

Thanks for reaching out to us. Your VAT number should be in the format provided by the VIES website here. Please go to the VIES validation tool here to confirm whether you have a VAT number in the format that Upwork can validate. If your VAT number cannot be validated, you may need to obtain an EU VIES VAT number. Your local tax advisor may be able to assist you with that.
