There are three billing methods available to freelancers, Credit or Debit Card, PayPal, or Upwork Balance. You can read more about this here.

You may go ahead and try to enter the card details by doing the following:

1. Log into your Upwork account and click on “Settings”
2. Click on “Billing Methods” in the left-hand column
3. Add and verify your new billing method and mark the method as “Primary”
4. Once verified, click the “Pay Now” button at the top of the Billing Methods page.
