W-8BEN Form to withdraw money

Hi I’m a Canadian worker and I need to fill out the W-8BEN. Do I need to register with the CRA and get a GST number for the W-8BEN form? The W-8BEN form asked my for legal business name which makes me think I need to.

I can only tell from the position of being in Europe, but there was a post some time ago stating that you only need to fill the W-8BEN on Upwork, not get the actual W-8BEN form from the US!

Whether you proceed with a GST (for me it was the VAT Id.) or not likely may only have implications whether fees will be forwarded to you net or gross at quick glance.

If not this, an Upwork mod will surely know :)!

You can use your Legal Name to fill out your Form W-8BEN.
