Wasting connects for fake job

Please tell me what had happened on my job feed? There's always a relevant job that I've applied for posting, then suddenly there is some job similar to that job posting. No viewed on my proposal client doesn't view the activity of that job posting. Are scamming freelancer for connects necessary? Why you can't optimized our jobs feed for fake and real one.

Hi there, I've just been scammed as well, on my first try!  So disappointed 😔 Wasted connects on getting in touch with the client, only to immediately be directed to Telegraph and then the scamming started.  Very unhappy and hope this is not how it will go on Upwork!

So sorry to hear that, be mindful on the job posting. Sometimes not to even mention there's so much scam job or fake job posting.

Happened to me too recently more often. I apply to a job then  I see a similar I mean almost identical job posted multiple times only a few words or budget has changed but not much. I think something is not right.

You can mark those job to upwork to validate. In one of the case, client have posted the same JD for 2 location and it was valid job as confirmed by Upwork. Sometimes client do post the job for multiple location and it seems to be ok..

However, you cannot rule out scam so need to be very careful. It is always better to review client history and other details if available.

I would be very keen to know what UpWork exactly plans to do against all the Bot Proposal Senders!?

Within minutes of posting a job, on average, new accounts always submit proposals boosted with their gifted connects.

Just avoid or bid with boosted 51 connects, if you can afford..

The solution is not to throw even more connects. Boosting gets you on top of a pile, but many clients are not impressed with paid advertising. You should only apply if you hold every requirement, and boost when you know you are one of the top two candidates. Then, bid with common sense.

Plenty of freelancers are getting the job, with no or lower bidding because the clients want quality, not people who throw connects.

Hi Guido,

When the team receives flags about jobs, they are reviewed against the Upwork Terms of Service. Have you flagged the job post you're referring to through this process? If you haven't, you can send me a private message (by clicking on my name) with more information about the job post you mentioned so I can forward it to the team for their review.

I'll wait for your message!

Something is not right, job posting and the algorithim of my job feed. Can upwork do anything about it?

You need to fix it yourself. You can delete the cache and try to search again. In case it does not work then try refreshing your job feed search filters. If some underlying keywords changes then result might be different at times..
