Sounds like you are using manual hours. You need to log your hours manually in the work diary. If you are capped at three hours, then it will not allow you to log more than that. You will need to speak with the client about raising the cap.
I strongly encourage you to read all you can find in the Help and Support section about hourly contracts and getting paid, before you go any further.

Just put the total amount of hours you work in. Upwork will work out the rest. Usually it will display those extra hours as overtime, the client has no obligation whatsoever to pay you those extra two hours, but I would always log the five.

Totally pointless, because the client would never even SEE the extra time.
Only the time up to the weekly llimit is billed and charged to the client and appears in reports. If a client wants to pay such extra hours, they have to go to the trouble of calculating a bonus payment.

Wow. Never knew that. Then yeah, absolutely agree, totally pointless.
Seems a bit remiss that the client doesn't even get the opportunity to acknowledge extra time and effort put in, but hey. Just make sure you have a decent hour cap in place from the beginning, I suppose.
