Hi,
My JSS dropped from 97 to 94, and I can't understand why. The most recent contract that was closed was in December 2018, and that's when my JSS rose to 97 because of that contract. Now it dropped to 94, even though no other contracts have been closed since. It doesn't make any sense for it to drop, is this another bug? Could some please explain what's happening? I am top rated, I have a constant work activity, my reviews and ratings are super high, no contract has ended in over a month, and my JSS drops suddenly. Why?
Thanks,
Chris

Perhaps positive reviews have fallen out of your calculation window?

either that, or a contract with nothing (ever) paid has been open for a couple of months or more

Yeah, could be a bug. I had 100% for months and saw it dropped today. It wasn't much of a drop (99%) but didn't make sense either. I have pretty much all 5 stars and 100% client who would recommend me. I would say wait for the next update it might go back up.
Now that I am more used to the site, it tends to be buggy sometimes so I don't pay attention anymore. 94% is not bad but I get your frustration. If it really bugs you try to contact Upwork support directly for an answer.

I spoke to support, it seems that there's a 6 months window I knew nothing about. So apparently what you did before the 6 months window counts less for some weird reason. I understand the logic behind it, it's "work more, bring in more", but that's a lousy way to encourage someone to become more productive. The bad thing is that I am involved in something personal for the next few months, and I won't be able to work as much as I'd like to, and it will be fun watching my JSS drop even more, without me having to do anything.
Anyway, at least I understood how it works. It's very disappointing, and I feel offended because I truly love this platform, I fell inlove with it ever since I joined, so that's the reason I probably feel more than I should.

That's not true. They calculate 6, 12 and 24 months and whichever is the best becomes your JSS. You probably have 4 jobs in your 6 months window so it is not being calculated anymore because the minimum number of jobs for JSS calculation is 5. If you complete just 1 contract then it will come back up. 94 is not a bad JSS by the way.

I know it's not a bad JSS, but it's not as good as 97 or 100 🙂 I care a lot about my reputation, and this was an unpleasant surprise. But hey, what can I do about it, I'm just a guy with a keyboard 😛
