What do the thumb down and heart on my feed do?

Hi wondering if these are for global information, or just specific to my feed? For instance, if i thumb down a post for some reason, will it then be less searchable to other freelancers? Or does it just help filter my own feed?

Also, how aggressive is the effect? What might end up being filtered? For instance, if i thumb down a post that has a client budget of $100 for having a budget too low, would then all postings with that budget get filtered out? I wouldn't actually want that as i've had some jobs that turned out to be lucrative, but client was looking for something very small initially for $100 and that budget was reasonable- led to further work. But then other jobs the person might be looking for something huge, and only wants to spend $100 so its way out of range for what i would apply to. I'd rather not have things that might be good get filtered out because i used that function so for now i've always just stayed away. But my feed is very time consuming to go through.

Thanks, sorry if there's a page on this already. I couldn't find it, and the bot wasn't helpful.

Hi William,

To add to the information Jennifer has shared, we receive aggregated information from the thumbs down feature and it's used to improve Job Search and Feed in general. The way you use the button doesn't currently influence the ranking of jobs. Clicking the thumbs down icon next to a job will not automatically remove all jobs with similar budget from the feed either. Thank you.

The thumb down opens a list with reasons why this job is not for you. The reasons are irrelevant but whatever you choose the job will no longer appear on your list.
The heart means you save the job and can now access it through the saved jobs tab. I use it sometimes to see what is happening around me.

Neither of them have any influence on your relationship with potential clients. But they can help you keeping track on some jobs.
