What has changed for Freelancers?

I saw the blog and video about the changes instituted as today (near  as I can tell).  I'm not exactly sure what has changed for us freelancers.

  • I guess Talent Scouts are Upwork staffers who connect freelancers with clients? Like the Invitations I get sometimes from the Upwork people?
  • Is there anything I must do to connect with a Talent Scout, or be noticed by them?
  • It sounds like "Talent Marketplace" is the system we've been using here for years. Has anything about it changed?

Hi Shawn,

Upwork Talent Specialists help connect clients with freelancers and agencies so they can work together. As a result of the program, freelancers and agencies are getting projects more often, and faster.

To learn more about this, check out this Help Article. Could you also clarify what you're referring to under the last point in your post? Thank you.

I apologize for misunderstanding your post. I believe you're referring to the email and the announcement we've also shared here. I can confirm that Talent Scout mentioned there is a different program, not related to Talent Specialists. We will be sharing more information about it in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned!

That would work if I would no longer get invites as "Norwegian copywriter" or for translations into languages I do not offer as target language.

Hi Jennifer,

I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience you've had. Feel free to share more details about this with me via PM and I will share your feedback with our team. Thank you.
