Freelance is work conducted by a person who sells their services by the hour or day rather than working on a regular salary basis for one employer or contract basis as an independent contractor.
There are many freelancing online platforms, almost uncountable. The commonly used by freelancers include Insolvo, Fiverr, Upwork, **Edited for Community Guidelines**
, flexjobs, and Guru, among many others.
As a freelancer, it can be overwhelming to choose from the countless freelancing websites available online. However, I have never tried any of those platforms but I recently signed up with Upwork. It seems it stands out from the rest. Insolvo's terms and conditions ensure that both buyers and freelancers are satisfied with the quality of work and remuneration, respectively. This creates a positive experience for everyone involved.
As I have read a few hundred complaints about the Freelancing Platforms, I feel that they do not understand the concept of Freelancing and consumers, and I know their expectations and disappointment. They think that if they open an online freelancing platform, the clients will line up with them.
As a business and tax advisor, I would say they should not live in a foolish heaven where someone will come to them to do business with them just because they have an online "Freelancing account."
The freelancer should keep in mind that having an online account does not ensure that you have a job. There are millions of people looking for jobs around the globe; some are playing games with it because they do not trust the online platform and feel it is a game, and some are just living in foolish heaven, believing that the client will line up to them, and some are seriously hunting jobs. The hunter always catches something.
There are also linguistic problems; too, some of them need to read the job description. They need to make sure they understand the language pretty well and communicate professionally and intelligently. Poor language skill and communication skills cause doubt. Culturally, most people are biased toward others to change, which requires being authentic.
Keep in mind that the clients can be skeptical of you, but the freelancer has to break the skepticism with their expertise. Winning trust and reliability takes years of hard work, and breaking it takes a second. Freelancing means you are building your own trustworthiness, not the platform. The platform is just the initiator and grantor.
