What is the Date of birth format ?

I was trying to add my payment method via bank transfer and after putting SWIFT Code, on the bank account details page, i was being asked to provide my date of birth. Whatever the method i was trying to write my DOB, it was showing a red-marked error saying "invalid format". Please help !

The format should be month/day/year. Using today's date as an example of the formatting, would be : 03/20/2018

When you click on the field and hover your mouse over that same field, do you see a pop up tip about the format? I believe it should be YYYY-MM-DD.
