What is the procedure after a freelancer gets hired for a job?

I recently got an interview invite from Upwork. I was hired for the job. Will there be any official agreement between the client and me stating all the terms and conditions before the commencement of work?

If you have a contract on Upwork you can discuss your own terms with the client. That said, if you don't, the standard terms can be found in our Terms of Service: Optional Service Contract Terms.

So you are not hired, so you SHOULD NOT do any work.

Thank you for the link. I was just added to a room along with some other members like me. We have not been assigned with any work so far. I will make sure not to work without a contract.
