What's UpWork official stance on a freelancer being gifted a digital product they worked on?

Hi!
Searching the forums I was able to find out that UpWork is okay with people being gifted something they worked on (like a puzzle, a collectible card, a book... etc...) And that as long as it's not replacement for payment, it's all good.

But does this applies to Digital Products, like NFT Collectibles?

Reason I ask is that I have been working on some NFTs projects (as a designer/illustrator) and clients usually say (in passing) that they would like to gift me one or two NFTs I worked on. This is nothing defined yet (as these projects are not near release), but I want to be able to communicate to the client if it's okay or not.

So, what's the official UpWork stance on this?

Personally, I see these NFTs as just digital mementos with no pre-determined value. I understand that some may become expensive, but that's up to chance, and I feel like it's the same chance of a book becoming rare, or a card from a card game being considered rare/special.
On top of that, I really don't intend to "sell" those NFTs if I ever get one, I would just store them as digital mementos and maybe use it as an avatar on Discord/Twitter or something.

Could Up-Work give me a official stance on this, so I can just relay it to the clients?

The less Upwork knows about your interactions with your clients, the better.

Simple math:

Upwork and it’s rules have been around for decades now (if one includes predecessor incarnations such as oDesk).

NFTs have been around for barely more than a few minutes. It is understandable that Upwork has no policies about NFT.

If people want to push for Upwork to adopt NFT policies, they may do so. I don’t see any advantage to pushing for NFT policy changes. As exchanging NFTs is currently allowed, then a policy change would mean prohibition of something that is currently allowed.

Thanks for asking here to check on this. Yes, just like with physical gifts, gifting NFTs is allowed as long as it's NOT in lieu of payment for your work.
