When do i know the client is legit?

I just got to the platform and did some job proposals, both clients asked me to go to telegram and asked for info, is this how it's supposed to work? How can i prove that i provided the service in sites outside upwork?

Both is scammers.

You cannot contact outside without contract. It is rules violation.

No need to prove because legal clients working via Upwork.

Report scammers then Upworks will delete jobs and refund your connects spent.

I've also experienced that in another platform and yeah they got me good. Lesson learned.

That you don't know the answer to your question means you haven't read or aren't following the Terms of Service. Before you lose everything, go to this post, read it, and follow every single link.

If you break the Terms of Service and you will never be paid. If you follow the rules, you would know you can't communicate outside of Upwork, before an Upwork contract is in place. Being paid outside Upwork will also get you scammed and can get you kicked out of Upwork.

When you go through the links, pay attention to Terms of Service and the Red Flags on Scams from a community member named Wes.
