When does UpWork charge it's service fee?

Hi all,

I wanted to know when UpWork deducts its service fee from our earnings? As an example I had 103 USD in "In Review". Afterwards I noticed that 93 USD were transferred to "Pending".

I am only asking this because I want to be sure before I approach my client about this.

If they cut out a portion of my earnings then I want an adequate explanation as to why they did it. 

If however, UpWork has taken its service fee at this stage then there is no problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, Upwork takes their fee as soon as the client pays. The client didn't underpay you.
