When the rate changes on an hourly job.

So I lowered the rate of one of my jobs coz my client is just a startup and I want to get more hours. I discussed this with the client.

Now my issue here is it is the same job, but when the changes was implemented Upwork treated it as a new job. I just don't find the sense to that and I want to know the reason why. It is the same job, only the hourly rate was changed. Same Contract ID.

Now the same job with the older rate is plastered on my profile and it's showing no feedback. I don't like the look of it considering it's plastered between two jobs where I had awesome feedback. I know this is like what, shallow OCD issue/concern or something but I don't think it should be done this way.

The same job with the new rate appears in jobs in progress. Is there a way for Upworks system or dev team to:

1. Just combine the same job into one, staggered the hours and show it only in the Jobs in Progress.

2. Remove the one in the 'completed jobs' where it showed no feedback.

This job has been continuous, I like the total hours I worked on this to be shown in 'Jobs in Progress'. Not split into two. I want this same job to appear on my profile once, not twice.

Another slightly similar concern with this old contract where the hourly rate was increased.

But it counted it as another jobs in the Jobs Counter in my profile. I don't have 18 total jobs, I have 16.

I hope this will be heard and I look forward to responses and hopefully a solution to this.

I often get invites to that Top Rated Freelancer event but haven't had the chance to join even once but have been considering it these past few months just so I can talk to the Regional Manager or something - not sure of the position, or speak at the event about this.

I know this is like just a small thing, not a big deal to some. But when it comes to my profile, account standing, and how it looks I take care of it down to the minute details.

Sincerely,

Rey

Hi Rey,

The first contract that you had with your client closed because the rate was changed, so a new contract was started. The contract is for the continuation of the same job with the same details as the previous contract, the only difference is that a rate increase was given. Your client does not have to leave feedback on the closed contract, once the job has been completed these contracts will be merged and the final feedback will be submitted.
