Wow Thanks Olga. I just refreshed and I had an invite too with no notification.
For the past one hour, I didnt receive any message notifications - either through email or a pop-up which is normally coming onscreen while I logged in to Upwork.
While browsing through the account, it shows "Messages 1" in the pull down menu near my name and I have gone thorugh the message board and noticed a new message from a client.
I have received few more messages in that message board from that client and it is almost 20 minutes past since I got them in the message board and they are yet to hit my email.

I have checked with the team and it looks like there is an email provider issue. They are working to resolve it as soon as possible.
