Just to add, as long as the contract stated 2 files equaling almost 2 hours your have fulfilled your obligation. I didn't realize it actually specified two files in the job posting.

I sincerely appreciate your response and your advice. This is more than a headache to be quite honest, and I'm going to take your advice and the advice of others in this thread so as to never make it again.

If you are quoting him verbatim and he said "here is the download files to be transcribed," then I believe that he represented that those files constituted the whole job. Without that line, I would say that you should not have presumed that the files attached as a sample were the whole job when he had specified "about two hours" and the content was not close to that mark.
